Limelight Ketchum Community Fund

A fundamental mission of the Limelight brand is to connect itself as deeply and meaningfully as possible to the communities in which it operates. That "commitment to place" is reflected in how the Limelight’s employees and management team will approach philanthropy.

We believe a healthy community makes for happy employees and guests. So we are choosing to focus our philanthropy locally.

For the Limelight Hotel Ketchum, this is achieved through the Limelight Ketchum Community Fund in the Idaho Community Foundation.
The Community Fund is a vehicle to engage the hotel’s workforce. The fund is financed by contributions from the Limelight Hotel Ketchum’s operations, by employees through an optional paycheck deduction, and by guests through a $1-per-night donation that can be opted out of at any time. It is governed by a board of the Limelight Hotel Ketchum employees, which meets periodically to review grant applications and determine grant recipients. These can include specific areas of need, such as early childhood education, environment, youth development, etc.

The Environment Foundation of Aspen Skiing Company — the parent company of Limelight Hotels — is the model on which this foundation is based. Over 20 years, the employee-funded, employer-matched Environment Foundation has donated more than $3 million to over 500 local projects protecting the environment. The Limelight Ketchum Community Fund donations will be spent in the Wood River Valley.

To support the fund, the Limelight Hotel Ketchum contributes a minimum of $20,000 each fiscal year. The hotel’s contribution will grow with the success of the property, and the money will be held by the Idaho Community Foundation in a donor-advised fund overseen by our employees. In addition to the employee fund, the Limelight Hotel Ketchum will consider small brand-aligned event sponsorship requests and donations of in-kind product, such as room nights, hotel services and product sold through Four Mountain Sports. The hotel does not have the ability to consider capital requests.
